October 8: Resident Communication & Education in Affordable Multifamily Housing - Clear resident communication isn't just good customer service—it's a compliance and risk-management strategy. In this live 90-minute session, participants will learn to build a proactive communication framework that reduces maintenance emergencies, strengthens audit and inspection documentation, and connects everyday resident interactions to LIHTC, HUD, RD, and Fair Housing obligations.

Attendees will explore how to embed resident responsibilities in lease language, community rules, and handbooks; design effective move-in orientations that set expectations from day one; and use newsletters, digital tools, and community meetings to sustain ongoing education. The session also addresses language and cultural barriers, strategies for chronic non-reporters, and documentation practices that demonstrate "due diligence" when regulators come calling.

Property managers, compliance staff, and site teams will leave with practical tools to reduce hazards, cut costs, and foster the resident accountability that supports both property health and long-term compliance.
