Housing Credit Certified Professional (HCCP) Retake Exam

If you did not pass the HCCP certification exam on your first attempt, the retake exam provides another opportunity to demonstrate your expertise in affordable housing compliance. The retake exam covers the same comprehensive content areas as the original examination.

The retake exam maintains the same high standards and comprehensive coverage as the original HCCP examination. You will have the same 3-hour time limit and access to the same reference materials.

We recommend additional study time focusing on areas where you may have struggled in your previous attempt. Score reports from your initial exam attempt can help guide your preparation.

Retake candidates have access to additional study resources including:

• Focused study guides for challenging content areas
• Additional practice questions and scenarios
• One-on-one consultation sessions (additional fee)
• Updated reference materials and regulations

Candidates may retake the HCCP exam up to three times within a 12-month period. Each retake attempt requires the reduced fee of $175.00. We encourage thorough preparation between attempts to maximize your chances of success.

If you do not pass after three attempts, you must wait 12 months before becoming eligible to take the exam again, and you will need to pay the full exam fee.

The retake exam uses the same online proctoring system as the original exam. Ensure your computer meets all technical requirements and that you have a stable internet connection. A quiet, private room is required for the duration of the examination.
